How do I choose the correct size bike?
Find the correct bike size using our handy size guide here.
Children’s bikes are sized mainly by the diameter of the bikes’ wheels, rather than the frame size used for adult bikes. Wheel sizes typically range from 12 inches up to 26 inches. While age can give a rough idea of what might fit, a child’s height is far more reliable for choosing the correct size.
How does delivery work?
We’ll deliver your child’s bike within 5-7 working days of receiving your order. We endeavour to deliver earlier if we can. We will only deliver to a home address, not a work address.
Delivery will occur between 8am and 5pm on weekdays, or over the weekends at your request (although we may not be able to meet the 5-7 day commitment if delivery is requested over a weekend).
We will contact you on the day of delivery to give you an indication of timing. If applicable, we will collect your previous bike and make delivery of your new bike simultaneously.
Do you deliver everywhere throughout South Africa?
Currently, we deliver to the wider Cape Town area and Cape Winelands. We have plans to expand our services to Gauteng early in 2026 and will hopefully service the rest of the country as and when we grow. Watch this space!
Do I need to assemble my bike on delivery?
No, your bike comes fully assembled. It is good practice to test the brakes before each and every ride, to ensure your child’s safety, but rest assured, your bike has been safety checked by our technicians prior to delivery.
What if the bike gets damaged?
Our high quality bikes are safety checked by our technicians in preparation for you little one. Normal wear and tear is expected, but if the bike is returned with excessive damage or missing parts, we may charge a repair and/or parts replacement fee.
What if the bike gets stolen?
If your bike is stolen, report the theft immediately at the local police station. Obtain a case number and then let us know by emailing kelly@gogobikes.co.za
All of our bikes are insured, so you will pay the lesser of a) a ‘Total Loss Fee’, or, b) the retail price of the bike minus the total monthly payments already paid for the bike. As soon as we have received and processed this payment, we will send you a replacement bike.
Total Loss Fee:
12, 14 and 16 inch bikes – R500
20 inch bikes – R1000
24 and 26 inch bikes – R1500
Are there rules about how and where to store my bike at home?
Yes, bikes must be stored in a dry, safe, lockable place at your home. They must not be left outside, as they can be damaged when exposed to the elements. Ensure it is stored in a dry place, as the chain can rust when left damp for long periods of time.
How do I exchange my bike?
Visit our website, login to your account, navigate to your subscription, click on ‘Exchange your bike’, choose your replacement bike and follow the prompts to update your recurring payment.
Pay the exchange fee at checkout and we will deliver your new bike.
We will collect your old bike at the same time so make sure it is ready for collection. It does not need to be cleaned, as we will clean it as part of our expert refurb service.
How much does an exchange cost?
There is a R100 exchange fee when you swap your bike. But don’t worry, there are no additional fees over and above this. This fee covers admin, delivery of your new bike and the collection of your old bike.
Can I exchange my bike at anytime?
Yes, our scheme is fully flexible, so you are able to swap your bike as and when your child outgrows it. There is no fixed amount of time that you need to keep your bike for.
What happens to the returned bikes?
The bike being returned is collected at the same time as you receive your new bike. Our expert team of technicians will wash it, replace any worn or damaged parts, conduct a safety check to ensure it is ready to be shared with a new loving rider and then it will re-enter our bike stock. If we feel the bike is no longer visually suitable to remain in the Go Go Bikes system, we will refurbish it and donate it to a charity.
What is the difference between exchanging a bike and returning a bike?
Exchanging a bike means you are returning the bike you have subscribed to in exchange for a new bike. You remain a customer of ours and will be billed for your new bike accordingly.
Returning your bike means you would like to end your Go Go Bikes subscription. You pay the R100 return fee, we will collect the bike and when the bike is safely back at our premises, your recurring payment will be stopped.
Please note, we require one months’ notice to end your subscription, to allow for the collection and inspection of your bike.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription anytime, by giving one month’s notice and by paying the R100 cancellation fee. During this final month, we will arrange the collection of your bike, inspect its condition and then we will cancel your recurring payment. Simply login to your profile, navigate to your subscription and click ‘cancel’, and we will do the rest.
