Insurance – Go Go Bikes
In the interest of keeping things clear, here’s how insurance work with us… If you’d like the detailed legal version, please see our full Terms and Conditions:
Are all Go Go Bikes insured?
Yes! All of our Go Go Bikes are insured. We insure them ourselves and at our own expense, not at yours. You do not need to insure them yourselves, we have done this for you, aren’t we kind? But there are some rules to consider… Think of your bike as part of the family — it deserves a cosy spot too! Store it in a dry, safe, and lockable place at home… that’s a rule! Bikes left outside can get weather-worn or rusty (especially the chain!), so keeping it indoors or under cover helps it stay happy and ready to ride. And when you are out and about on adventures… keep an eye on your bike at all times, never leave it out of sight or unattended… that’s a rule too!
Uh-oh… What if my bike is damaged?
Don’t worry — our bikes are tough little troopers! Each one is safety-checked by our expert technicians before it heads out to you. We know a few scrapes and scratches are all part of the fun, so normal wear and tear is absolutely fine. But if your bike comes back with excessive damage or missing parts, we may need to charge a small repair or replacement fee to get it back to tip-top shape. If it’s damaged beyond repair… well that’s not cool… we may ask you to replace the bike, but look after your bike and we will look after you!
What if my bike is stolen?
Oh dear… If your bike disappears on an unplanned adventure, please report the theft right away at your local police station and get a case number. Then drop us an email at kelly@gogobikes.co.za with the details.
All our bikes are fully insured, and we try our best to make things easy on you… so you’ll pay whichever is less of the following two options:
a) a Total Loss Fee (see below), or
b) the retail price of the bike minus what you’ve already paid in subscription fees.
Once we’ve received and processed your payment, we’ll send out a replacement bike — because adventures shouldn’t stop for long!
Total Loss Fees:
- 12″, 14″ & 16″ bikes – R500 total loss fee
- 20″ bikes – R1000 total loss fee
- 24″ & 26″ bikes – R1500 total loss fee
