Size-up as you grow

Discover our range of kids’ bikes to find the one that suits your child best. Use our size guide to help you make the right choice. Don’t worry… If it isn’t the right size when it arrives, we’ll happily swap it for one that fits perfectly. Simply add the bike to your cart and go to checkout.

How do I choose the right size?

Children’s bikes are sized mainly by the diameter of the bikes’ wheels, rather than the frame size used for adult bikes. Wheel sizes typically range from 12 inches up to 26 inches. While age can give a rough idea of what might fit, a child’s height is far more reliable for choosing the correct size.

At checkout you will be prompted to sign up and create an account. Pay the once off sign-up fee and set up your recurring monthly payment using Peach Payments. Share your address and confirm your delivery details… we will do the rest.

Are there any hidden fees?

There are no hidden fees. When you sign up you will pay a once off fee of R100 to cover both delivery costs and sign-up admin. Thereafter you will pay the monthly subscription agreed upon when you sign up. When your child is ready to size up to the next bike, visit our website, click ‘exchange my bike’,  pay the R100 exchange fee, and your recurring monthly payment will increase/decrease automatically according to the new bike you have chosen.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription anytime, by giving one month’s notice and by paying the R100 cancellation fee. During this final month, we will arrange the collection of your bike, inspect its condition and then we will cancel your recurring payment.

We’ll deliver your child’s bike within 5 to 7 working days of receiving your order. We endeavour to deliver earlier if we can. At this stage we only service the wider Cape Town area and Cape Winelands.

Where do we deliver?

We deliver to the wider Cape Town area and Cape Winelands.

How does delivery work?

We will deliver your bike within the above-mentioned time frame to your home address. Delivery will occur between 8am and 5pm on weekdays, or over the weekends at your request (although we may not be able to meet the 5-7 day commitment if delivery is requested over a weekend). We will contact you on the day of delivery to give you an indication of timing. If applicable, we will collect your previous bike and make delivery of your new bike simultaneously. Please note, we will ONLY deliver to home addresses, not work addresses.

Your bike comes fully assembled and ready to ride. Set the saddle height and your child can hit the road, the bike park or the mountain immediately. Don’t forget to wear a helmet at all times when riding your bike!

Do I need to assemble my bike on delivery?

No, your bike comes fully assembled. It is good practice to test the brakes before each and every ride, to ensure your child’s safety, but rest assured, your bike has been safety checked by our technicians prior to delivery.

Are there rules about how and where to store my bike at home?

Yes, bikes must be stored in a dry, safe, lockable place at your home. They must not be left outside, as they can be damaged when exposed to the elements. Ensure it is stored in a dry place, as the chain can rust when left damp for long periods of time.

What if it’s stolen?

If your bike is stolen, report the theft immediately at the local police station. Obtain a case number and then let us know by emailing kelly@gogobikes.co.za
All of our bikes are insured, so you will pay the lesser of a) a ‘Total Loss Fee’, or, b) the retail price of the Equipment minus the total monthly payments already paid for the bike. As soon as we have received and processed this payment, we will send you a replacement bike.

Total Loss Fee:

12, 14 and 16 inch bikes – R500

20 inch bikes – R1000

24 and 26 inch bikes – R1500

When your child outgrows their bike, exchanging it is easy. Visit our website, click on ‘Exchange your bike’, and follow the simple prompts to update your recurring payment. Exchanges carry a R100 fee to cover the delivery of your new bike and the simultaneous collection of your old bike.

How do I exchange a bike?

Visit our website, click on ‘Exchange your bike’, and follow the simple prompts to update your recurring payment. Pay the exchange fee at checkout and we will deliver your new bike. We will collect your old bike at the same time so make sure it is ready for collection. It does not need to be cleaned, as we will clean it as part of our expert refurb service.

How much does an exchange cost?

There is a R100 exchange fee when you swap your bike. But don’t worry, there are no additional fees over and above this. This fee covers admin, delivery of your new bike and the collection of your old bike.

What happens to the old bike?

The old bike is collected at the same time as you receive your new bike. Our expert team of technicians will wash it, replace any worn or damaged parts, conduct a safety check to ensure it is ready to be shared with a new loving rider and then it will re-enter our bike stock. If we feel the bike is no longer visually suitable to remain in the Go Go Bikes system, we will refurbish it and donate it to a charity.

When do I need to exchange the bike?

There is no set time in which you need to exchange the bike. Our scheme is fully flexible, so you are able to swap your bike as and when your child outgrows it.

What’s the difference between exchanging and returning a bike?

Exchanging a bike means you are returning the bike you have subscribed to in exchange for a new bike. You remain a customer of ours and will be billed for your new bike accordingly. Returning your bike means you would like to end your Go Go Bikes subscription. You pay the R100 return fee, we will collect the bike and when the bike is safely back at our premises, your recurring payment will be stopped. Please note, we require one months’ notice to end your subscription, to allow for the collection and inspection of your bike.
